Come Swim With Us!
|
I'm not sure if we are ready for summer swim... The Dolphins welcome kids of all capabilities to swim with us. Our swimmers range from ages 3 to 18, participating in either our Competitive Team or the Mini Dolphins. Competitive swimmers participate in meets, practice by age and abilities, and train to improve not just their times, but their strength, capabilities, and comfort in the water. Our Mini Dolphins are our youngest swimmers just dipping their toes in the water before moving on to the Competitive Team. The Minis get small-group practices focusing on the basics, comfortable and capable in the water. We have seen Minis go from side of the pool to swimming 25 Meters unassisted in one summer season. Many of our swimmers grow up with the team starting in elementary school until their graduation from the team, and a very spirited (and LOUD!) send off their final summer. Its a big reunion party at the start of each season. The kids and our families are back with great friends ready to dive into another summer as a Dolphin.

How can my child swim with the team...
For the Competitive Team, we accept swimmers who are capable of swimming 25 meters unassisted. It doesn’t have to be pretty, just willing to try, learn, be coachable and ready to have fun. Dolphin swimmers improve quickly with regular practice and participation. Our Saturday meets showcase progress and are a ton of fun for everyone.
Our Mini Dolphins is an option for kids ages 3-8 who are not ready yet to swim at a competitive level but are enthusiastic about becoming a member of the Competitive team in the future. The Minis team is not swimming lessons. The program, instruction and approach focus on preparing the littles for the big pool while having fun. We limit the Mini Dolphins to 50 swimmers-we do sell out each summer.
What about the Dolphin Coaches...
The team has a wonderful Coaching staff. Our Head Coach is experienced and active with competitive swimming including year-round USA Swimming (USAS) Club teams, Winter Off-Season conditioning programs, High-School prep programs, and is the Varsity Coach at Osbourn Park High School. She is a USAS-accredited coach who understands and executes a Safe Sport approach to keep kids safe. She is a Teacher and a Swim Mom herself and champions our philosophy of being the FUN team. She holds the assistant coaches to high expectations and hires a staff she is confident will bring the best of Summer Swim to our team.
But we don't live in Wellington...
Can you join the team if you don’t live in the Wellington HOA? You can. We have swimmers from many neighborhoods around Wellington. The Wellington HOA offers Non-Resident pool memberships each summer. A lot of our Dolphin families take advantage of this as an option for a summer recreational pool. If you want more information on a Non-Resident membership, contact the Wellington HOA at www.wellingtonca.org
